Should I take any precautions after treatment?
Since the laser continues to affect your muscles and tissues for 36 - 72 hours, we ask you to stay away from any ice therapy or NSAIDs (ibuprofen [Motrin, Advil], naproxen [Aleve], aspirin). Tylenol is okay to take after treatment. Please note that icing an area or taking NSAIDs within this timeframe is not harmful; however it will stop the active healing process of the laser and results will not be as beneficial.
Twelve to 24 hours after treatment, you may feel a dull aching sensation in the area of complaint. This is a temporary sensation due to localized blood flow and is not a concern for follow-up appointments. This is more commonly seen in chronic and long term conditions. Please ask your provider if you have any further questions regarding follow-up care.
